Evening course "Elementary Typography"

A fully equipped letterpress workshop is located at the Berufsschule für Gestaltung in Zurich. Rudolf Barmettler has been teaching here the evening course "Elementary Typography" for years.

The publication "Contexts and Coherences" shows business cards and posters created during the evening course in commented form. A series of pictures conveys the atmosphere in the workshop, two essays explore questions of working methods and the use of old technology. Two section of original posters, printed with letterpress, are stitched into the spine.
